Duties
You will have responsibility for the day to day maintenance, network administration, modification, installation support, and documentation verification of all assigned training systems.
You will provide operational training to users and other personnel associated with the training systems.
You will evaluate system performance and conduct preventive maintenance including troubleshooting to detect system malfunctions.
You will restore a system which is out of order by analytical testing, troubleshooting and diagnosing to locate malfunctioning components and then perform necessary repairs to correct deficient unit.
You will review all engineering documentation related to hardware/software changes on assigned trainer systems to include flow charts, math models, report listings, and test procedures.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain Core Competencies, IA, operating system, (OA) and computing environment (CE) commercial certifications for IAM Level I per DoDINST 8570.010M.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722- Information Systems Security Manager within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Protecting information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability; 2) Planning, implementing, or evaluating configuration/requirement changes across an enterprise; 3) Operating, monitoring and troubleshooting network systems; AND 4) Evaluating information technology systems to ensure effective system operation.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from accredited or pre-accredited institutions in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from accredited or pre-accredited institutions in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
