You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Information Resources Department of the NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.
Duties
You will be responsible for in-depth security administration which includes installation, testing, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems and services.
You will be responsible for managing and monitoring cybersecurity solutions for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
You will provide technical support in the areas of vulnerability assessment, risk assessment, network security, product evaluation, and security solution implementations.
You will ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to all components of the networks and systems.
You will participate in acquisition and supply chain evaluation of systems, networks, and other IT hardware/software for conformance with cybersecurity
requirements.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- The incumbent must meet all certification requirements for IAT Level III within 6 months of assuming the position.
- This position is a Cyber Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain qualifications in accordance policies, for work role Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support (521) advanced proficiency level within 9 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Monitoring IT systems, networks, and server performance to ensure compliance with security standards; 2) Installing, testing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting information security systems in accordance with requirements; 3) Evaluating and performing risk analysis to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in information technology systems; and 4) Researching, recommending, and implementing changes to enhance systems security.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
