This position is in the Farm Service Agency, Arkansas State Office, located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
About the position: Provides technical and clerical support to the Administrative/Executive Officer and Administrative Specialists related to one or more areas of administrative operations identified in Major Duties and Responsibilities.
Duties
Processes approved requests for personnel actions and enters into the payroll system.
Obtains and submits fingerprints to FPAC-Homeland Security Division (HSD) for processing of background investigation and coordinates with the County Office regarding any additional needs.
Coordinates annual awards program including time off awards, performance-based awards, and recognition-based awards according to current guidelines and procedure.
Prepares special and recurring reports on various administrative functions.
Maintains office supplies and shipping materials (including postage).
Types a wide variety of material into final form, including correspondence, reports, handbook amendments, notices, information material, etc.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement 07/05/2024 including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Specialized experience for the GS-5 level:
Four years of education above high school in an accredited business, secretarial or technical, junior college, college or university in any field in which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite -OR-
Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-4 level in the Federal service or private sector equivalent applying office methods and procedures to provide clerical and limited technical support to any program -OR-
A combination of post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and the specialized experience described above.
Time in grade for the GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment
Specialized experience for the GS-6 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-5 level in the Federal service or private sector. Specialized experience is defined as providing a variety of administrative and technical support relating to personnel, procurement, budget and/or general administrative management, organizing travel and meeting arrangements for management officials and program staff.
Time in grade for the GS-6: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the GS-5 grade level.
Specialized experience for the GS-7 level:
Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-6 level in the Federal service or private sector. Specialized experience is defined as performing a variety of administrative support services in support of a business or program office, assisting in preparing operating budgets, making purchases of office supplies, equipment, vehicle and tracking expenditures, providing timekeeping services and reconciling time and attendance documents, making travel arrangements, and reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence and other administrative documents.
Time in grade for the GS-7: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the GS-6 grade level.

Education
