About the Position: Incumbent will work under the supervision of the Office Chief ensuring that the clerical and administrative work of the organization conforms to the appropriate policies and procedures as well as reviews the work of others and gives advice concerning procedural requirements.
Duties
Use Automated Information System, data base, spreadsheets etc., to process and produce a wide range of documents, some of which require complex format, in support of office automation functions.
Prepare regular and special records such as time and attendance, leave, unclassified material while ensuring office files are maintained.
Control the division’s activities schedules and appointment calendars.
Receive requests from various organizations, government agencies, and contractors for information concerning programs and activities, under the Chief's control ensuring suspense's are met.
Prepare and review correspondence for signature or requiring coordination by the supervisor for conformance with regulation, grammar, formal and special policies of the office relating to administrative matters, and general office policies.
Serve as a timekeeper, ensuring time and attendance is completed properly and timely.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.
- Incumbent must be able to type 40 words per minute (wpm) with 3 or fewer errors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as timekeeping and travel coordinator by maintaining a calendar and scheduling appointments; receiving and directing visitors and telephone calls; composing and reviewing correspondence; coordinating administrative processes and procedures, training, and development of clerical staff; and coordinating personnel actions for organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
