About the Position: This Secretary (OA) position is located at U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Chief of Staff with duty location of Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Duties
Stay abreast of the activity programs as they relate to the applicable administrative and clerical functions.
Use a variety of advanced functions of Office Automation Software using more than one software type.
Manage high a paced office environment by maintaining control of the Chief of Staff's schedule and monitor the scheduled activities of the Chief of Staff and the Command Group Senior Staff.
Make professional visual aid briefing materials for Chief of Staff's use at conferences and meetings.
Manage Chief of Staff's calendar and make final commitments for appointments based on the priority of obligations and other scheduled events.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience involves researching administrative problems to provide data for use in responding to actions which require the supervisor's personal attention; reviewing incoming and outgoing correspondence for grammatical errors and regulatory guidance; AND using office automation software (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, and calendars) to produce charts, graphs, and/or reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position NK-02/GS-07 in the federal service.
In addition to meeting specialized experience requirements, applicants for this position must show possession of the following skill: a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
