About the Position: Serve as manager for all external unit training deployment/redeployment and mobilization/demobilization related actions. This position is assigned to the Plans/Operations Division, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility, and Security (DPTMS), Fort Sill, OK.

Duties

Create, review, determine, and update the installation External Unit Training, Deployment, Redeployment orders, events, and plans. Formulate the DPTMS portion of the mobilization and demobilization cycles and establishes milestones and deadlines for all activities for planning actions. Coordinate with all major post activities for necessary training of troops that involves in-processing, housing, training, equipping etc. Represent the command at mobilization conferences and meetings with national and multinational dignitaries. Prepare statistical data and brief on situation reports.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.
  • Requires periodic TDY travel away from home station.
  • May work nights, weekends, shift work, overtime and/or holidays.
  • May be required to work unusual and extended tours of duty.
  • The duties of the position requires a Secret Security clearance.
  • The duties of the position requires successful enrollment and completion of the Global Command and Control System-Army operator's course within 2 years.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
  • Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Supporting the training and the coordination of resources for the deployment, redeployment, and mobilization actions of troops; 2) Reviewing training plans to ensure tasks are aligned and updates are incorporated based on doctrine and DoD policy; and 3) Preparing briefings and information papers to report on shortfalls, progress, and meeting milestones for staff, subordinate units, and/or command. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration. (Note: You MUST attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You MUST attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
