Duties
The Long Range Precision Fires CFT Deputy Director serves fully as the Deputy Director and assumes the Director's responsibilities in the absence of the Director.
The Deputy Director oversees the organization’s day-to-day operations and support staff.
The Deputy Director advises the Director and staff and oversees the organization’s strategic communications and engagements including congressional and international.
The Deputy Director provides oversight and enhancement of systems/SOPs/operations, resourcing, policy goals, communications, and HR/personnel functions.
The Deputy Director manages and oversees the CFT Team performing multifunctional activities, including experimentation, requirements development, operations, operational support, training, mission support, assessments and logistics.
The Deputy Director cultivates a cohesive work culture and fostering a positive, success-oriented, transparent, and accountable environment within the organization.
The Deputy Director determines the overall strategic plan for near-term and long-range goals and objectives; restructuring or realignment based on economic conditions to include change in legislation authority or approved funding levels.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 50% of the time.
- A 1 year Probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) directing the operational functions of an organization to include establishing guidance, implementing new or revised policies, making budget and resource allocation decisions, 2) influencing and leading internal and external stakeholders on mission goals, changes, and future requirements, as well as 3) performing a full range of personnel management actions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
