About the Position: Serves as training instructor and participates in course development. Responsible for both preinstructional and instructional actions
including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of recovery operations training. Applies a variety of
instructional techniques including lecture, seminar, conference and group discussion, programmed instruction, self-paced instruction,
and multimedia instruction.
Duties
Strives to improve instruction by developing different approaches and methods. Initiates minor changes to improve course layout or to add additional material.
Evaluates student achievement and diagnoses student learning difficulties for particular low and high ability students or groups and improves instruction through the application of innovative or advanced instructional techniques.
Job performance requires a thorough specialized technical knowledge in advanced principles of wheel and track vehicle recovery operations.
Responsible for both pre-instructional and instructional actions including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of recovery operations training.
Assists in the review and/or preparation of course development including job analysis, task inventory, job task data cards, and task analysis information sheets.
Instructs in schoolhouse and on Mobile Training Teams on all areas of vehicle recovery operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrating a practical knowledge of principle wheel and track vehicle recovery operations and of the methods and techniques of presenting classroom instruction, training methods and techniques, lesson plan or course material development and review, adult education practices and procedures, implementing technology and alternative facilitation into the classroom. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Adult Teaching & Learning.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
