About the Position: Serves as a Plans & Operations Officer at the National Simulation Center (NSC).
Eligible for situational telework ONLY, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework".
Duties
Serves as a senior military analyst, Assistant Operations and Plans Officer, to develop, coordinate, staff, and implement standard policies and operating procedures to meet the guidelines of the Director, NSC.
Provides oversight for near term through long range organizational integration.
Develops the NSC Director's weekly CAC-T Activities Report for submission to higher headquarters.
Oversees the development of the National Simulation Center's Knowledge Management Site (NSC-KM).
Serves as the NSC initial entry point for information requests and external (HQDA, TRADOC, Combined Arms Center (CAC) and Combined Arms Center for Training (CAC-T )) taskings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- SECRET CLEARANCE: This position may require the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing, coordinating, staffing, and implementing standard policies and operating procedures; and 2) Applying the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) to conduct mission analysis of assigned projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
NOTE: Applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
