Duties

What will I do in this position if hired? In this Program Analyst position, you will support the Region 8 Response Division as a Resources Unit Leader and will be responsible for supporting efficient and effective integrated response and recovery planning at the direction of the Planning Section Chief. This position deploys as required and reports to the Planning Section Chief in both disaster situations and steady state. When deployed, the incumbent of this position reports to the Planning Section Chief and is responsible for checking-in and maintaining the status of all assigned resources. Incumbent will coordinate federal support for response and recovery to natural and man-made incidents that result in considerable levels of damage, or disruption severely impacting the affected population and infrastructure requiring sustained federal recovery support.Typical assignments include:

Qualifications

All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this Program Analyst position at the IC-09 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-07 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Assisting supervisors in planning and executing requests for supplies, equipment, and other resource needs; and Providing technical guidance on organizational regulations, policies, and procedures; and Drafting oral and written communication in support of technical and non-technical personnel and leadership teams. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related OR Combination of education and experience To qualify for this Program Analyst position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Executing requests for supplies, equipment, and other disaster resource needs; and Identifying organizational or operational problems and developing solutions in disaster response or recovery situations; and Coordinating disaster response programs and/or initiatives with internal and external stakeholders. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M. OR Combination of education and experience To qualify for this Program Analyst position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Planning and forecasting requests for supplies, equipment, and other disaster response resource needs; and Developing and implementing strategies to improve the execution of program efforts for an organization; and Collaborating with State and Local stakeholders to analyze and overcome disaster response programmatic challenges.
