About the Position: Serves as the District Chief-of-Staff. Advise the District Commander, Deputy District Commander, and Deputy for Planning, Programs, and Project Management Division and other executive senior leaders in areas of management and administration.

Duties
Plans, directs, coordinates, and manages assigned support office activities through direct supervision of Support Office Chiefs
Performs short and long-range planning in conjunction with prospective changes in USACE missions and programs.
Advises the DDE on coordination with CIO/G6 and ULA national enterprise organizations.
Consults and maintains liaison with senior District leadership and national enterprise organizations that provide legal services, information technology, human resources, and logistics activities.
Serves as consultant and technical advisor for the District on all matters relating to support office functions.
Exercises direct supervision over several District level support offices.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret access security clearance for the duration of employment in this position.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
- This position requires a financial disclosure OGE-450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing and managing plans, goals and objectives for an organization's support offices. AND 2) exercising judgement and resourcefulness in the development and direction of policies, programs and objectives. AND 3) planning and evaluating organization's goals, programs and objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
