About the Position: The program managed is national in scope and interacts with and affects the hazardous and toxic waste cleanup activities of the Corps of Engineers Civil Works Program, the Environmental Protection Agency Superfund Program, and the Army and Air Force environment and munitions programs.
Duties
Provide leadership, direction, and policy guidance for and manage the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP).
Make recommendations for implementation of Environmental Protection Agency Superfund Program, Defense Environmental Restoration Program to include the Army and Air Force Installation Restoration at active sites, and Formerly Used Defense Sites.
Ensure compliance of program projects as it pertains to regulations, policies, procedures, design, and construction authorization.
Interacts with and affects the hazardous and toxic waste cleanup activities of Civil Works program as it pertains to the environment and munitions program projects.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually.
- This position may require incumbent to travel (TDY) up to 25% of the time away from the permanent duty location.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesproviding leadership, direction, and policy guidance for the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP), Environmental Protection Agency Superfund Program (SF) as it pertains to programming, planning, design, and operational objectives of hazardous and toxic waste cleanup activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
