About the Position: Serves as training instructor and participates in course development. Responsible for both preinstructional and instructional actions including overall maintenance and improvement of assigned course areas of track vehicle maintenance and repair. Applies a variety of instructional techniques including lecture, seminar, conference and group discussion, programmed instruction, self-paced instruction, and multimedia instruction.
Duties
Confer with instructors and course designers to discuss course content, training aids, and materials.
Establish training and developmental requirements for instructors or supervisors.
Formulate plans for future development and action governing academic operations.
Advise higher officials on strategies to enhance education and professional development.
Consult with agencies or personnel on new equipment training.
Brief senior leadership to inform them of training status or areas of concern.
Advise combat material developers on training products, aids, devices, simulators, and simulation requirements.
Advise leadership to inform them on areas of interest such as simulator upgrades and simulator maintenance time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instructions for track vehicle automotive systems maintenance/repair such as, providing diagnostics and/or repair of track vehicle automotive systems, subsystems, and components at field/sustainment levels of maintenance and repair, assisting in the development of training/course materials, and aids pertaining to the position, performing work in the field of track vehicle maintenance/repair that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
