Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as developing and implementing policies for assistance programs; interpretation of policies and procedures related to grants and/or cooperative agreements; and making recommendations on new or proposed grants process changes.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of laws the pertain to the Unified Grant Guidance (UGG)
Ability to apply analytical and evaluate methods and techniques to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of grants management issues
Skill to gather and interpret data
Ability to develop and implement policy and guidance for other environmental assistance programs awarded by the agency
Knowledge of the agency's competition order and related guidance
Knowledge of federal standards and agency objectives
Knowledge of the substantive nature of agency mission, policies, and objectives
Ability to understand automated systems and work processes to facilitate the gathering and interpretation of data
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
