You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/NETWORK) in the Control Systems Test Bed of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.
Duties
You will administer the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
You will perform a variety of functions on a wide range of IT issues, provides advice and recommendations on IT system administration.
You will interpret and applies IT policies, processes and guidelines, conducts systems and applications analysis/design.
You will implement system security procedures, tools and policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying network design and architect principles; 2) Performing system administration, applying systems integration methods, and performing tuning methods; 3) Applying modeling and simulation tools; 4) Communicating both orally and in writing.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing system requirements from systems analysis documentation. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing guidance to system developers. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Developing recommendations for projects and studies with board impact for consideration at high levels to improve system efficiencies. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
