Position may be filled at either the GS-6 or GS-7 level.
Duties
Make travel arrangements for Command Group personnel.
Develop and produce daily, weekly, and monthly calendar for the Command Group with minimal supervision.
Develop and design administrative procedures, execute procedures, assemble information, make recommendations, prepare reports and
presentation, and perform directorate level administrative tasks.
Ensure reports and responses to correspondence are submitted by the staff on time and in the proper format, making travel arrangements, and scheduling conferences.
Monitor and assist with training associated with the automated Defense Travel System.
Resolve scheduling conflicts.
Serves as the timekeeper reviewer. Requests new time and attendance accounts. Prepares and consolidates time and attendance data. Ensures accurate time and attendance entry. In the absence of employees, inputs time and attendance data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Criminal History Background Check required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the employee to undergo screening for tuberculosis prior to entry on duty and annually thereafter.
- The work requires contact in the detention of inmates convicted of offenses against the punitive articles of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

- Department of Defense Instruction, Number 1325.07 states all confinement facility personnel shall have no civilian felony convictions or court-martial convictions for any offense with a maximum authorized sentence to confinement of over one year.
- This position requires the employee to complete the Army Corrections Command (ACC) Pre-Service Training program.
- Pre-Service training emphasizes the responsibilities of each individual to maintain security and control of inmates, appropriate staff, inmate interaction and understanding the rules of inmate conduct.
- The incumbent of this position will comply with all provisions of the 15th MP BDE Regulation 190-3, Rules of Conduct and ACC Policy Letter #17, Standards of Conduct.
- IAW The Prison Rape Elimination Act, the MCC may not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates, has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup community conferment facility, juvenile facility, or other institution (42 USC 1997).
- Personnel who enter the Military Corrections Complex (within or outside the fence line) consent to inspection of their person and property, including their vehicle.
- All Army Corrections Command employees are required to take 40 hours of training annually. Employees will receive basic training in inmate supervision and security as well as specialized training in their field.

To Qualify for the GS-6 Level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of clerical and administrative work for an office using various office automation applications; maintaining a schedule/calendar for an organization; and proofreading and/or editing correspondence and/or technical documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
To Qualify for the GS-7 Level:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of clerical and administrative work for an office using various office automation applications to create, edit, produce documents and generate reports; maintaining a schedule/calendar for an organization and resolving scheduling conflicts; and proofreading and editing correspondence and technical documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required for GS-6 and GS-7: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-6: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-5).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-7: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-6).
All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements. Current employees applying under VEOA are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.
