About the Position: As a Secretary (OA) with Army Futures Command, Futures and Concept Center Mission Command CDID, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, you will be performing a wide variety of administrative management duties. Duties include providing assistance and applying a good working knowledge of program responsibilities in resolving procedural and administrative problems.
Duties
Monitors, coordinates, executes and provides advice, guidance and assistance on policies and procedures established within the office.
Maintains complete and current calendar of events for all sections within the office such as schedules meetings, appointments, conferences, etc.
Prepare travel orders for personnel within automated travel system such as Defense Travel System (DTS).
Reviews, processes and routes all correspondence, distribution, mail and electronic messages.
Coordinates, plans, creates agendas, and supports MC CDID meetings, conferences, and Video-Teleconferences (VTCs) as directed
Receives telephone calls and visitors, screening and referring callers or visitors to the appropriate person or personally takes care of many matters and questions not requiring technical knowledge.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
Qualifications
This position covered by this vacancy announcement will/may be transitioning to AFC STRL Mod Demo Support (Pay Plan DK), Pay band Category II. Pay range includes $40,196-$71,684. The selectee will be notified when the position is transitioned into AFC STRL Mod Demo.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience:
One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level, which includes: 1) receiving telephone calls and visitors; 2) maintaining supervisory calendar, for example, scheduling appointments, conferences, and making necessary arrangements for large meetings; 3) coordinating travel arrangements to include transportation and hotel reservations; 4) editing outgoing correspondences for procedural and grammatical accuracy and conformity with general policy; 5) operating automation hardware systems and software packages (e.g. word processing, presentation packaging, database management, electronic mail and/or calendar, desktop publishing, electronic spreadsheet, graphics, or other automated functions).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education
