You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the AIRCRAFT CARRIER MAINTENANCE AND MATERIAL READINESS CODE of COMMANDER NAVAL AIR PACIFIC.
Duties
You will analyze, interpret, formulate, and rule on processes and policy as they relate to the repair, maintenance, and modernization of the nation’s fleet of aircraft carriers.
You will standardize aircraft carrier maintenance processes.
You will identify duplicative or dated practices and review existing and proposed maintenance initiatives for opportunities to synergize, deconflict or rebut.
You will monitor compliance with approved processes and report results to stakeholders.
You will analyze authorized policy against actual practice and emerging initiatives to identify gaps and overlaps, drafting new policy where appropriate.
You will serve as Budget Manager, managing all aspects of budget including liaising with leadership to ensure budget, spending plan, and any major changes are agreed to as required by Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- You will be required to work onboard ships.
- You will be required to to obtain Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt Certification.
- You will be required to to obtain a Contracting Officers Representative (COR) Certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying knowledge of aircraft carrier maintenance concepts, policy, and approaches to identify vulnerabilities within current practices and make recommendations that satisfy support needs, ensuring aircraft carriers reach their expected service life.
