This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMIN/TECH SPECIALIST in the Corporate Operations Department (Code 10), Security Division (Code 105) of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.
Duties
You will serve as the Supervisor for the Code 1051 Security Policy and Programs and Code 1052 Emergency Management Branch.
You will also serve as the Command Security Officer (CSO).
You will ensure daily tasking and work efforts are aligned with Divisional priorities to ensure maximum NUWCDIVNPT mission support.
You will work closely with the Special Access Program Security Officer (SAPSO) and Special Access Program Coordination Officer (SAPCO).
You will ensure indoctrinated personnel adhere to all policies and procedures governing the storage, receipt, transmission, inventory, and destruction of classified material.
You will prepare and submit program access requests for NUWC personnel requiring access; provide required security awareness training for indoctrinated personnel and maintain accurate training records.
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; assigning work to subordinates based on priorities.
You will give advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters.
You will plan and track Branch budget and costs and providing input to the overall Division budget.
You will serve as the CSO and will act as an alternate NUWCDIVNPT representative, relative to all areas of responsibility, when interfacing with the Navy security and law enforcement community.
The incumbent oversees the daily operations of all security programs and subprograms within the Security Policy and Programs Branch (Code1051)
Under the direction of the Command Security Director, the incumbent oversees the daily operations of all security programs and subprograms within the Emergency Management Branch (Code 1052)
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise and management oversight of physical, personnel, or information and industrial security programs for an organization.
