Duties
You will serve as a Government Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer (GSSO)/Special Security Representative (SSR).
You will be responsible for the implementation and oversig.ht of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) Specialized Security program.
You will develop local Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security policies and procedures that are compliant with applicable Specialized Security requirements.
You will ensure all program-accessed personnel adhere to Specialized Security classification management (i.e., proper classification and classification marking).
You will conduct preliminary counterintelligence (CI) interviews to determine if SAP/SCI personnel have been, knowingly or unknowingly, solicited for sensitive or classified information.
You will develop, conduct, and track Specialized Security education and awareness training for SAP/SCI-accessed personnel.
You will prepare and submit Specialized Security access requests for command personnel with a validated need-to-know.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) designated position. You must complete the (SFPC - Security Fundamentals Professional Certification) within 24 months of entry into the position.
Qualifications
For the NT-4: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band NT-03 (GS-9/10) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading or conducting security reviews to adjudicate clearance requests, ensure compliance with security requirements or developing security plans and procedures for an organization.
For the NT-3: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band NT-02 (GS-5/8) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting a security program by ensuring the adequacy of personnel investigation reports, submitting security clearance requests, or assisting in security investigations.

Education
Per the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), education may be substituted for specialized experience, as follows:
FOR NT-4: - A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
An LL.M., if related to the position being filled; OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
FOR NT-3: - A master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
An LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled; OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
