You will serve as an ADMIINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Security Division within the Corporate Operations Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI, located in Newport RI.
Duties
You will serve as the designated Special Access Program Security Officer (SAPSO) or Special Security Officer (SSO) for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs and/or Special Access Programs (SAP).
You will develop local SCI/SAP security programs, policies, procedures, and processes that are compliant with higher-level
specialized security requirements/regulations/instructions.
You will implement and provide oversight of local SCI/SAP security programs including preparing and submitting specialized security access requests for command personnel with a validated Need-to-Know.
You will conduct indoctrinations and debriefings of SCI/SAP program personnel ensuring all program-accessed personnel adhere to specialized security classification management (i.e., proper classification and classification marking).
You will control, store, inventory, transfer, and destroy SAP/SCI material, and verify compliance with specialized security doctrine.
You will develop, conduct, and track specialized security education and awareness training.
You will prepare and conduct facility self-inspections, assist visits by external authorities, and provide recommendations and
implement corrective actions as required.
You will coordinate with supervisors of technical codes to help determine Security Division priorities and assist the Security Director in
setting customer service goals and determining Division-wide security training and awareness needs.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) designated position. the incumbent must complete (Special Programs Security Certification) within 24 months of entry into the position and must be maintained while in the position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing or implementing a Special Access Program/SCI security program consisting of personnel, physical, and technical components to ensure organizational compliance.
