You will serve as a CONTAINMENT FABRICATOR SUPERVISOR in the Production Resources Department (Code 900) under the Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901) in the Production Resources Shop (Code 990), Emergency Services at NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will Use complex equipment and calibration instruments to prepare and manufacture Containment areas.
You will uses calibrated radio frequency heat sealers, ultrasonic sealers, wedge welders, seals, proper vent closures, hepa filters, negative air pressure and computerized sewing machines.
You will ensuring the personnel and administrative objectives, programs and policies are met.
You will recommend performance ratings, awards, training, disciplinary actions, changes in performance standards, and initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates to higher level supervisor.
You will investigate and provide solutions to quality problems encountered by subordinates and others involved with assignments.
You will participate with supervisors in the initial, current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.

- The incumbent must be able to lift 45 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally over 45+ pounds with assistance.
- The incumbent must be able to climb vertical ladders and work from staging, man lifts, and scaffolds.
- Correctible vision is a requirement to work in dry docks and on staging.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to other shipyards approximately10% of the time.
Qualifications

Experience reading, interpreting, and following complex written instructions, drawings, blueprints, specifications, radiological engineering standard, proper ventilation requirements for each situation and process instructions, corporate standards, and shop practices.
Experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing numerous quality-related requirements as they relate to design, fabrication, inspection, installation, and removal for both off-hull and in-hull enclosures.
Experience planning, coordinating, supervising and reviewing the work of subordinate personnel to meet schedules.
