You will serve as a Containment Fabricator Leader in the Production Resources Department (900), Production Resources Department Manager (901), Productions Resources Shop (990), Emergency Services of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will provide direction, instruction, and guidance to lower-grade employees and apprentices. You will independently perform assignments utilizing knowledge of theories, principles, techniques, practices and drawings from both isometric and two-dimensional views. You will apply knowledge and skill in mathematical principles of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. You will provide direction, instruction, and guidance to lower-grade employees and apprentices. You will review overall work for compliance to meet trade standards. You will determine and develop fabrication methods, materials needed to create, install and lay out work. You will establish equipment used for preparation and construction of radiological and non-radiological barriers and enclosures. You will use complex equipment, calibration instruments and drafting software (e.g. CAD, CNC) to prepare and manufacture containment

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
• You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• You will be required to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds in weight.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
