About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMCs mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as a Financial Management Analyst located at Rock lsland Arsenal.

Duties

Leads, tracks, and reports Joint Munitions Command's Risk Management Internal Control (RMIC) program. Prepares responses to inspection or assessment findings and implements recommendations. Ensures key process internal controls are reflected and synchronized with Joint Munition Command's Financial Statement Audit efforts and the Command Inspection Program (CIP). Reviews key and essential functions to develop and track internal controls to ensure the programs are mission ready and compliant.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of Army requirement of this certification program.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Finance or Accounting. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Contributing to the implementation of Risk Management Internal Control program or Audit Readiness/Remediation program initiatives; 2. Evaluating the effectiveness of financial management programs, systems, and operations in meeting established goals and objectives; 3. Determining compliance with established policies and regulations; 4. Presenting alternatives to resolving financial management problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AuditingDecision SupportInternal ControlsRisk Management GS-11 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
