About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as a Protocol Officer located at Rock Island Arsenal.
Duties
Serve as the central point of contact on all matters pertaining to protocol, visitor activities, ceremonies and conference management for Joint Munitions Command Headquarters.
Adapts procedures and policies to prevent or solve problems within the Protocol program.
Interface with high-ranking officials, foreign embassies, Department of Defense representatives, and legislative and state officials to provide or receive protocol information.
Plans and executes a variety of protocol support functions such as meetings, presentations, conferences, tours and formal visits.
Determines the procedures required to efficiently carry out programs with respect to meeting, greeting, and caring for dignitaries and visitors.
Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- TDY up to 10% of the time may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Arranging official visits, meeting, and social functions (2) Coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements for visiting guests (3) Drafting official documents and briefings for senior officials; and (3) Evaluating protocol policies and procedures to identify and recommend changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
