About the Position: Serves as the Human Resources Officer managing military programs and operations in the Strength Management Division, Personnel Administration Division, and Plans and Operations Division providing expert technical advice to Directorate in the development of solutions to complex problems in all aspects of the military personnel programs.

Duties
As a Human Resources Officer (Military), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Manages, directs, and determines program goals and develops plans in the execution of military personnel requirements. Assures uniform application and coordination of all administrative and operation policies and procedures.
Serves as technical advisor to the Director, providing guidance and advice on classification, assignment and utilization, pay, promotion, demotion, transfer, line of duty, awards, strength management, evaluations, and readiness.
Distinguishes regulatory issues within the broader HR systems implementation and improvement initiatives to develop proposals to incorporate into or change existing HR personnel policies.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY), up to 10% of the time.
- Supervisory probationary period may be required if not previously completed.
- May be required to complete a one year TERM Trial Period.

Specialized experience is defined as: Work which includes 1) Applying military personnel management principles to manage or direct the activities of a military personnel branch; and 2) Providing technical guidance on military human resources programs such as, strength management, awards, evaluations, promotions, pay, assignments, or similar military personnel functions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
