About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a Human Resources Specialist performing a wide variety of duties related to officer and enlisted military personnel records,pre-deployment, deployment, redeployment, mobilization and demobilization operations, flagging actions, in/out processing of permanent party, attachments, students, posting and processing orders.
Duties
Reviews and studies all new or changed regulations and directives and determines sequence and methods required for implementation
Develops or revises military personnel programs pertaining to personnel services and Soldier readiness processing transition.
Executes internal procedures for review, control, and processing of personnel actions in accordance with Department of the Army directives, the accumulation and reporting of statistical information.
Provides input and recommendations to the chain of command concerning policy, procedures and letters of instruction regarding actions within the section.
Reviews records and processes to ensure that all required updates and functions are accomplished in accordance with Army policy
Enforces internally set timelines for the performance of various records updates and transition tasks
Provides quality assurance and control for work performed in the section.
Verifies all Temporary Change of Station (TCS) orders for deploying soldiers and coordinates all unit contingency and humanitarian support deployment operations for the MPD/AG office
Acts as a liaison with HQDA, FORSCOM, TRADOC, IMCOM, CONUS Army Command, Reserve Support Commands (RSC's), National Guard, HRC and State Area Commands (STARCS) in developing HR SRP policies, promulgating program guidance and support requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).

Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing over-the-counter personal services to military and family members that pertain to the following: predeployment, deployment, redeployment, mobilization, and demobilization operations dealing with COMPOs 1, 2, & 3, military personnel management procedures, processes, and entitlements, military organizations and personnel requirements; travel and entitlements related to temporary and permanent change of duty station... This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resource, Business Administration, Organizational Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
