About the Position: This position is located with the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL
Duties
Monitor contractor performance to ensure acceptable levels of performance and customer support for maintenance services are maintained.
Interpret industry quality standards and regulations to implement a quality assurance surveillance program to evaluate the performance of contracted maintenance support services.
Serve as maintenance officer in support of the logistics readiness center maintenance activities for assigned components, subsystems or complete vehicle systems.
Analyze systems to ascertain if required information exists or requires additional development by automation means.
Prepare maintenance logistics statistical reports from an automated database to assist with decision making.
Present briefings to the Division Chief on all maintenance, contractual events, and issues.
Coordinate maintenance activities or upgrade of logistical services with supporting tenant organizations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.
- Temporary duty travel of 10% may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as assisting in conducting command logistics reviews; providing assistance in resolving problems involving maintenance or supply; using automated inventory, supply or logistics systems to provide oral and written instruction or guidance and researching logistics policies in order to provide advice. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education Substitution for Specialized Experience: Successful completion of at least a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that is directly related to the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 18 hours (total semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
