This position is located within the joint Executive Office of the Office of the Legal Adviser (L) and the Bureau of Legislative Affairs (H) (L H/EX) which reports to the Division Chief for Management Services. The position is responsible for providing records management, oversight, and information management services to the Office of the Legal Adviser (L) and the Bureau of Legislative Affairs (H).
Duties
Plays a significant role in analyzing and evaluating Bureaus’ records in such mediums as printed documents, correspondence, reports, vouchers, maps, sound recordings, still or motion pictures, magnetic media, and electronic records.
Researches and reviews FOIA, Congressional, Judiciary, Office of the Inspector General, and Department of Justice requests, clarifies issues in requests and designs searches to identify all potentially responsive records.
Advises the Lead Records Management Specialist and/or the Division Chief for Management Services on the latest techniques related to discovery and records production and may train attorneys and paralegals in the use of Bureau in-house software.
Provides advice and guidance on all aspects of information and records management programs, processes, and activities for senior management that are designed to support management, staff, and customers.
Exercises responsibility for developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones, deliverables, deadlines, and timeframes for completion, and monitoring ongoing project activities.
Requirements

- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing records and monitoring project activities in a government office.
Experience handling records specific to litigation and legal matters.
Experience providing records management, oversight, and information management services to the Office of the Legal Adviser and Bureau of Legislative Affairs.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
