About the Position: This position is located in the Military Personnel Division at Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Duties
Review all administrative and military-related correspondence submitted by the organization or its subordinate units for transmission to higher headquarters.
Prepare implementing instructions for headquarters element and subordinate battalions to ensure uniform interpretation and application.
Provide military personnel management support to Army Reserve units within the Brigade area of operations.
Interpret regulations and policies, and advise on appropriate action.
Consolidate reports and prepare summarized or explanatory correspondence.
Monitor and manage officer and enlisted evaluation operations for the brigade and subordinate units.
Assist Headquarters and subordinate unit staff in formulating administrative estimates, plans, orders, and reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent may be required to serve a two year trial/probationary.
- Incumbent may be required to travel up to 10% to perform duties or attend training events.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, which includes processing military human resources actions; administering and advising on at least three of the following areas: officer evaluations and promotions, enlisted evaluations and promotions, awards processing, military
pay, and military leave; and preparing HR reports.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
