You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will evaluate and advise the Security Director and Command Security Manager on INFOSEC program status and provides supporting documentation, reports and metrics regarding INFOSEC program compliance, effectiveness and efficiency. You will identify and analyze deficiencies in INFOSEC in the areas of compliance, effectiveness and efficiency and develops plans, strategies and courses of action to correct deficiencies. You will develop risk assessments and business cases analyses to identify solutions to security deficiencies and implementation strategies and advises the Security Director and Command Security Manager on best course of action. You will develop, implements, administers and executes the NAVAIR Information Security (INFOSEC) Program as a sub-program of the overall Command Security Program. You will identify threats and vulnerabilities to command equities relative to the INFOSEC program and develop countermeasures to mitigate security risk.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing, implementing, administering and executing the NAVAIR Information Security (INFOSEC) Program as a sub-program of the overall Command Security Program, consistent with all applicable DoD, DON and NAVAIR policies and procedures; 2) Interpreting DoD and DON INFOSEC program policies and procedures and identifying requirements for NAVAIR-wide implementation and compliance; 3) Developing INFOSEC program policies, standards and standard operating procedures implementing DoD, DON and NAVAIR requirements across the command, program executive offices and subordinate activities; 4) Providing oversight of the INFOSEC program to ensure command, program executive office and subordinate activity compliance with DoD, DON and NAVAIR program policies and standard operating procedures; 5) Evaluating and advising the Security Director and Command Security Manager on INFOSEC program status and provides supporting documentation, reports and metrics regarding INFOSEC program compliance, effectiveness and efficiency.
