You will serve as a PERSONNEL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the TRIDENT TRAINING FACILITY of TRIDENT TRAINING FAC, BANGOR.
Duties
You will administer the management of a Personnel Security Program by implementing policies and procedures.
You will respond to inquiries regarding the implementation and execution of Physical Security guidelines.
You will analyze personnel security and suitability theories and concepts to develop innovative improvements to the Personnel Security Program.
You will conduct sensitive information training and education to boost security awareness of the staff.
You will review and analyze applicable directives for impact on the assigned security programs.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviews reports of personnel investigations to identify the presence or absence of derogatory information; 2) Reviews the impact of various kinds of derogatory information on the granting, denying, or revoking of security clearances; 3) Identifies the nature of issues involved, and researching guidelines to identify the general policies and procedures that apply to solutions for information security; 4) Applies security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out assignments and developing skills by performing limited independent work (i.e.; weighing the impact of variables such as cost; critical personnel qualifications; access and entry restrictions; equipment availability; and other issues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions or issues); 5) Utilizes knowledge of security programs, methods, and techniques to serve as participants in meetings and ad hoc committees developing local implementing plans and instructions based on well-defined objectives; and 6) Serves as a team member performing security audits, and/or in planning and implementing specific assignments that comprise part of an overall security plan.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or
I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or
I have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
