About the Position: Serves as the Senior Budget Analyst with overall responsibilities for the total spectrum of planning, programming, budgeting, execution, and fund control to achieve optimum use of Command resources.

Duties

As a senior analyst, responsible for the development of the organization's budget estimates and develops instructions and guidance for the organization's activities to ensure consistent treatment of programs and priorities. Assesses implications of congressional language and the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD)/ Department of Army (DA) directives on funding. Performs an authoritative role in the execution of the budget in one or more major Army programs or appropriations. Maintains primary responsibility for the receipt, control, and distribution of fund allocations to match the timing of expenditures and major contract awards. Provides Command briefings and reports on budget status.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May be required to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
