Duties
As a Health Scientist Administrator, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Overseeing, coordinating, and administering the scientific peer review process for health services research grant applications.
Conducting data analyses of the administrative and scientific decision-making processes within AHRQ, in an effort to improve the conduct and results of peer review activities.
Providing advice and guidance to grantees and applicants on a wide range of subject matter related to programs and policies.
Preparing summary statements containing the recommendations of the committee.

Basic Qualifications: Must meet the item listed below:
Must have a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an accredited U.S. educational program. In order to qualify for this position based on education, you must submit transcripts. Minimum Qualifications: In addition to the basic qualification requirement above, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following:
Managing the administrative and scientific review process of research grant applications for scientific merit.
Writing research and scientific reports, summaries, etc. based on data collected and evaluated relating to the scientific review process.
Conducting assessments and providing quality assurance to the scientific review process.
Preparing schedules for completion of work setting and adjusting short-term priorities.
