Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Health Scientist Administrator, you will be: Serving as a Contracting Officer Representative for grants and contracts that focus on Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project. Collaborating on the preparation, presentation, and dissemination of scientific findings. Serving as a technical expert supporting the Agency data development and research that uses clinical administrative health data.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an accredited U.S. educational program. In order to qualify for this position based on education, you must submit transcripts. Please see the "Required Documents" section of this announcement for more information. -AND- SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position requires the incumbent to serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for a portfolio of contracts and leads the development of Request for Contract (RFC) packages, and a COR, level II certification or higher is required. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position. Documentation of this certification must be provided with your application package. (See 'Required Documents' section) -AND- Minimum Qualifications: In addition to the above Basic Qualification requirement, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing all of the following: Experience in management and evaluation of contracts Experience coordinating a health services project. Experience developing and disseminating a healthcare database and/or associated products. Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
