These positions are located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, in the Office of the Superintendent.

Duties
Major Duties include:
Provides management support and assistance through a broad variety of routine and non-routine assignments requiring developed administrative, management, and communication knowledge and skills
Assists Office of the Superintendent staff and Division Chiefs in a wide variety of matters related to park management.
Performs special projects in support of difficult, complex, and often sensitive programs and responds to requests for public information.
Prepares and edits correspondence and reports pertaining to NPS programs and issues involving sometimes involving sensitive issues, policy, and controversial subject matters.
Reviews special and routine correspondence, reports, studies, investigations, and news articles and provides comments/summaries of these materials as needed.
Manages administrative activities for the Office of the Superintendent, including assisting with projects for budget, property space, and requisitions.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor.

Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by 11:59 EST when the applicant cut-off is reached (which may be sooner than 06/13/2024).
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience includes: 1) generating a variety of written documents and reports; 2) establishing and maintaining relationships with management to carry out confidential administrative duties; and 3) maintaining overall communication and coordination for management officials. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least one full academic year of progressively higher-level graduate education in accounting, finance, business administration, business management, international business, marketing, management or human resources. You must include transcripts.

COMBINATION: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. You must include transcripts.

SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management AND meet one of the Superior Academic Achievement provisions: (1) Class Standing: ranked in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as College of Liberal Arts or School of Business Administration, based on the completed courses; OR (2) Grade-Point Average: earn a grade-point average of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on the transcript, or as computed based on four years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B " or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field, or the required courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum. Note: grade-point averages will be rounded to the one decimal place, for example, 2.95 = 3.0, 2.94 = 2.9, and 3.45 = 3.5; OR (3) Membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society: elect membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. Freshman scholastic honor societies cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. In order to use your education to meet qualification requirements, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution. Transcripts do not need to be official at the time of application, but if you are selected for this position, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience includes: activities such as: 1) generating a variety of written documents and reports; 2) establishing and maintaining relationships with management to carry out confidential administrative programs and duties; 3) maintaining overall communication and coordination for management officials; and 4) maintaining electronic file systems for correspondences, higher headquarters data calls and micro purchases. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of a masters degree or two full years (36 semester hours or equivalent) of graduate level in an accredited college or university leading to a masters degree or LL.B., J.D., in a field that is directly related to this position (i.e., administration, organizational development, and/or public administration, etc.). You must include transcripts.

COMBINATION: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of semester hours or equivalent earned towards a graduate degree, in excess of 18 semester hours, and divide by 18 semester hours or equivalent. Then take the number of months experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only education beyond the second year is creditable to meet this standard. You must include transcripts.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CTAP/ICTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
