You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Test Engineering & Planning Division, Ocean Engineering Department, of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF).
Duties
You will serve as a Technical Work Leader for Test Product Development and provide technical guidance and counsel for the work of engineers and technicians assigned.
You will be responsible for the technical adequacy, accuracy, and timely development of complex system test products and certification of completed test results.
You will plan, schedule, and test programs for the Ocean Engineering Branch.
You will determine special equipment and instructions that will be required for the test program along with providing waterfront technical support to investigate malfunctions or test failures on assigned systems and recommend corrective action.
You will prepare test document schedules for the assigned systems and evaluate the time in man-hours required to prepare the test documents and schedule the completions dates to support the project requirements.
You will provide technical guidance and support to the support staff of engineering technicians and engineers ranging in grade up to and including GS-11.
You will represent the Test Engineering and Planning Division in critiques, project planning meetings, and on process improvement teams.
You will prepare and provide technical guidance for preparation of test documents such as Test Specifications, Test Procedures, Component Test Forms, and Portable Assembly Test Forms.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
Qualifications
GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector reviewing, releasing, and certifying completed technical engineering quality assurance records, work control authorizations and technical work documents to ensure certificated package meets specification requirements for the execution of undersea Ocean Engineering equipment and systems.
GS-10:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector generating and assembling technical engineering quality assurance records, work control authorization and technical work documents to prepare technical engineering packages for the support of undersea Ocean Engineering equipment and systems.
