About the Position: This position is located at Bayne Jone Army Community Hospital out of Fort Johnson, Louisiana.

Duties

Conduct monthly surveillance of medical supply warehouse. Rotates dated items and stock in accordance with policies. Utilize automated systems to track and/or monitor materials. Maintain records pertaining to quality control processes and inspections. Inspect medical materials for quality issues or expiration. Advise on hazardous material activities and disposal procedures to ensure compliance with governing policies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Up to 10% Business Travel required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) inspecting materials for defect or expiration; 2) documenting material stock reductions and/or changes due to quality defects or expiration; AND 3) assisting with ordering materials to maintain required stock levels due to quality or expiration This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementInformation ManagementPlanning and EvaluatingProduct and Service Examination Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
