About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, in Fort Johnson, Louisiana.

Duties

Serve as Quality Assurance Specialist responsible for surveilling government compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements. Evaluate maintenance services such as tactical/nontactical mobile equipment; heavy mobile equipment; engineer/construction equipment; special purpose equipment; and communications and electronics. Analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends/conditions and/or weaknesses in the quality control system. Formulate recommendations for corrective action when deficiencies and unsatisfactory conditions are encountered. Ensure the work and quality of work are performed according to the PWS/contract, Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan, and forwards reports of violations Prepare Quality Surveillance Reports and maintains files. Train or arrange for the training of team members to accomplish tasks or projects. Serve as technical advisor to Source Selection Evaluation Board (SSEB) upon re-solicitation of PWS.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work occasional weekends and overtime when required by the Quality Assurance Specialist Program (QASP) schedule.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). -OR- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contracting/ProcurementOral CommunicationQuality Assurance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
