You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the LOGISTICS SUPPORT DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will be responsible for initiating, monitoring and requesting approval for Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) including promotions, details, removals, reassignments, and classification changes. You will analyze information and trends to recommend recruitment strategies for future vacancies. You will assist in tracking and maintaining performance standards and coordinate all incentive awards, performance ratings and standards to ensure timely action by the department. You will evaluate quantitative or qualitative effectiveness of program operations in meeting goals and objectives and develop measuring criteria, procedures, and instruments to meet the needs of an assigned study. You will provide advice and guidance to staff on clerical and administrative matters and make recommendations to improve workflow and ensure efficient processes are applied. You will schedule appointments and meetings, coordinate conference logistics, and establish, update and maintain office files according to the established functional files system.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing analytical support and assistance with civilian personnel matters and special projects by assisting with research, assessing program operational effectiveness, and analyzing regulations and policies to advise management. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing analytical support and assistance with civilian personnel matters and special projects by conducting research, assessing program operational effectiveness, and analyzing regulations and policies to independently advise management. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-07:
  • I have successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education OR
  • I have successfully completed Superior academic achievement OR
  • I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
GS-09:
  • I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR
  • I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR
