About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Human Resources - Military Personnel Division-Transitions on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Processes military personnel records maintenance. Provides face-to-face and virtual customer service assistance to Soldiers, family members, and unit personnel regarding military personnel actions. Retrieves data from various information sources, both manual and electronic, for use in supporting military personnel functions and operations. Screens and/or processes both routine and non-routine military personnel actions using experience in applying military personnel procedures and policies. Completes IPPS-A transactions, Transition/Retirement actions, Reassignment requests, Strength Reporting, Promotions, Military personnel actions, In/Out Processing, Passport/Visa applications requests, and ID cards/DEERS transactions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May be required to work overtime, including emergency situations.
  • Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
  • Must be a qualified typist.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Using a computer and software or systems to prepare a variety of administrative documents; 2) Reviewing documents against agency standards; AND 3) Assembling and maintaining records/packets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Advancement requirement to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50/NPA that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.

Education
