You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PARALEGAL SPECIALIST of NLSC.
Duties
You will supervise, manage, and evaluate the work performance of junior paralegal specialists.
You will provide administrative guidance and support to assigned subordinates.
You will independently research case law, administrative law, federal and state statutes, and other regulations, directives, notices, and manuals.
You will conduct substantive legal research and selects relevant material for claims attorneys.
You will analyze issues received from claims attorneys to formulate appropriate queries for computerized legal databases.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1) Processing and adjudicating assigned claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act, Military Claims Act, Foreign Claims Act, and other statues and regulations; 2) Coordinating with attorneys, insurance adjusters, and claimants to appraise property damage, and evaluate settlement value; 3) Performing detailed legal research services in complex areas of tort law to support claims attorneys; and 4) Providing direction, guidance, and training for junior paralegal personnel.

Education
Education Substitution for Experience at the GS-11 Level:
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
