About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned & operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.

Duties

Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities. Serves as Apprentice Training Program Manager, responsible for supervising and training skilled labor/craft Apprentices throughout their comprehensive 4 year training program. Coordinates all tours through Operations Directorate floor space. Serves as the principle Records Manager for the directorate.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Position maybe filled as a time -limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade NTE 1 year by current permanent Army employee.
• Time-limited appointments may be extended up to a maximum of 5 years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed 5 years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position has a data analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for data analytics level 2 certification within 24 months of being placed on the position.
