You will serve as a in the Financial Management Analyst of NAVAL SUPPLY SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will apply fiscal law, policies, regulations, principles, standards, and procedures to financial management activities in conducting audit readiness sustainment testing over multiple financial business segments. You will analyze, evaluate and review budget and program issues and financial data and report using business tools and applications, cost and economic analysis, and performance metrics. You will execute modifications to systems, programs, and/or operations and establish criteria and other means to assess, investigate, or analyze a variety of unusual problems and conditions. You will identify and analyze problems, while weighing relevance and accuracy of information. You will convey written information in a clear, concise, and organized manner for the appropriate audience. You will engage and support the Navy Financial Audit assisting Navy to become fully auditable, meeting with both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Designing, implementing and assessing internal control processes and accounting systems to solve a variety of accounting and/or auditing problems; 2.) Analyzing inspection and management reports and audits to perform trend analysis and develop statistical data; 3.) Researching and investigating new or improved business and financial management practices; 4.) Reviewing internal control within financial and logistics systems.
