The mission of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) is to provide force protection, security, and law enforcement as required for the people, facilities, infrastructure, and other resources at the Pentagon Reservation and for Department of Defense (DoD) activities and DoD leased facilities not under the jurisdiction of a Military Department within the National Capital Region (NCR).

Duties

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Reviews and approves all budget execution requests submitted through the financial system of record. Evaluates the accuracy and validity of POM submissions against current year requests, and obligations. Develops, coordinates, and implements policies, procedural guides, and instructions for the Directorate. Ensures all projects/programs have efficient and effective controls. Develops spend plan and phasing plan to track execution against issued funding to ensure allocated funds are being properly and fully executing. Analyzes financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for financial and/or budgetary actions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • This is a National Security Position has been designated as Top Secret, Critical-Sensitive High Risk. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see https://www.sss.gov/Home/Registration) Total salary varies depending on location of position
  • Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment and are subjected to random drug testing.
  • Required to participate in the direct deposit program
  • The incumbent must adhere to DoD Standards of Conduct
  • This position requires incumbent to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 3 Certified position. IAW Public Law 112-81 and DoD Policy the incumbent shall comply with the requirements of DoD FM Certification Program.
  • This position may require occasional travel away from your normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Travel will be within the United States and overseas.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GS-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience reviewing budget execution documents; interpreting and analyzing financial and accounting reports; providing advice and recommendations to senior management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met at the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GS-13 grade level.
