Duties

You will serve as an INTERGRATED PREVENTION COORDINATOR in the PREVENTION WORKFORCE (N00PW), OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (N00ED), COMMANDER NAVY RESERVE FORCE COMMAND, NORFOLK, VA. You will identify efficiencies and make recommendations to streamline the development of and delivery of primary prevention science perspectives in prevention planning. You will identify existing or potential risk and protective factors that could lead to problematic/destructive behaviors and recommend preventive measures. You will assist with the development, planning and execution of core functions of an optimized prevention system. You will advise CNRFC and subordinate leaders on prevention programs, resources, activities and the strategic direction of prevention efforts.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. EXPERIENCE: In addition to the basic requirements stated above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience applying social science principles, concepts and techniques, as related to integrated prevention programs in order to evaluate, consult, and advise in a variety of settings, thereby promoting a healthy and resilient climate toward the prevention of destructive/problematic behaviors to include suicide, sexual harassment/assault, substance misuse, family/interpersonal/workplace violence. Experience maintaining prevention programs and practices and/or experience that demonstrates the incumbent's ability to appropriately identify, implement, and evaluate prevention methodologies. Experience utilizing communication skills sufficient to plan, organize, and implement prevention activities. Experience providing prevention training/education to a wide variety of audiences. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: In addition to the basic education requirement, Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
