You will serve as the Command Anti-Terrorism (AT) Officer and Continuity of Operations (COOP) Coordinator (SECURITY SPECIALIST) in the Security Department of DEPT OF THE NAVY, COMMANDER, FLEET READINESS CENTER (COMFRC).

Duties

You will lead efforts in identifying, evaluating, recommending and supporting security related efforts for COMFRC Headquarters, coordinating with all levels of military, civilian and contractor personnel You will maintain close liaison with the Pax River installation security community to provide authoritative information and advice on problems associated with squadron security and its application to test and evaluation programs. You will analyze, evaluate and make recommendation of all aspects of the command's national security program requirements with COMFRC You will develop and maintain security plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), instructions for COMFRC to meet Force Protection, Physical Security, and Industrial Security policy, directives, and best practices. You will monitor security programs and conduct periodic security inspection of COMFRC, required by security policy requirements. You will ensure that all proposed security system changes are reviewed and that implemented system modification do not adversely impact the security of the system. You will serve as the Command AT Officer and COOP Coordinator, leads efforts in identifying, evaluating, recommending and supporting security related efforts for COMFRC Headquarters You will coordinate with all levels of military, civilian and contractor personnel within National Fleet Readiness Centers (FRCs) and Naval Air Facility (NAF) security operations

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing criteria to measure and analyze a variety of unusual and complex security functions or security related situations. 2) Utilizing knowledge of information security, physical, industrial, antiterrorism, continuity of operations (COOP) and security program interrelationships to coordinate and support the commands strategic plan. 3) Implementing standards and resolving major problems and conflicts concerning security policy and program development 4) Developing comprehensive physical, COOP, Emergency Management, Anti-Terrorism and information security policies and strategies to counter threats.
