Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Lead Public Health Advisor in the Division of Crisis Operations for the 988 and Behavioral Health Crisis Coordinating Office, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Providing guidance and direction in the planning, development and execution of public health programs. Preparing reports and maintaining records of work accomplishments. Presenting results to the supervisor. Representing the team in dealings with the supervisor for the purpose of obtaining resources to complete projects. Representing the team in dealings with other team leaders or customers. Serving as the primary resource for new and ongoing projects that face major challenges. Leading the team in assessing strengths and weaknesses and developing alternative courses of action to improve team efforts. Performing a range of coordinating and supportive duties to ensure the work of the team is completed. Balancing the workload among team members to ensure each member has an integral role in the products of the team. Monitoring work in progress to keep the supervisor informed of status, including controversies. Coordinates efforts between team members.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Must have experience that provided: Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities. Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings. Knowledge of a specialized public health program. Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions. Skill in oral and written communication, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials. Minimum Qualifications: In addition to the basic qualification requirement above, you must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three of the following: Experience in public/behavioral health program oversight which ensured programmatic and/or fiscal successful completion of identified deliverables. Program evaluation experience. Management or team leadership experience. Report writing and communication for high level federal and/or state leadership. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
