This position is located in the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, Office of the Principal Deputy Director, Security Integration & Technology Directorate, Mission Integration Directorate, Financial Management Division. PFPA is the DoD focal point for collaborating and coordinating with other DoD Components, other Executive departments and agencies, and State and local authorities on matters involving force protection, security, and law enforcement activities that impact the Pentagon Facilities.
Duties
Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:
Supports the development and submission of the POM in order to ensure linkage with the budget.
Interprets and assess impact of new and/or revised Congressional legislation on the formulation of budgets.
Analyzes financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for financial and/or budgetary actions under uncertainly due to short rapidly changing program financial/budgetary deadlines and objectives.
Performs research using DoD or Service financial databases for the purpose of clearing the Dormant Account Quarterly Review (DAR-Q).
Inputs and extracts data from FM systems to perform budget functions.

- This is a National Security Position has been designated as Secret noncritical, moderate risk. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see https://www.sss.gov/Home/Registration) Total salary varies depending on location of position
- Individuals tentatively selected for drug testing designated positions will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment and are subjected to random drug testing.
- Required to participate in the direct deposit program
- The incumbent must adhere to DoD Standards of Conduct
- This position requires incumbent to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter.
- This is a Financial Management Level 3 Certified position. IAW Public Law 112-81 and DoD Policy the incumbent shall comply with the requirements of DoD FM Certification Program.
- This position may require occasional travel away from your normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Travel will be within the United States and overseas.
- This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GS-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience providing decision support and analysis for budget decisions, and participating in special studies, and projects; interpreting and analyzing policies and/or procedures, and maintaining data from financial management systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GS-13 grade level.
