Duties

The primary purpose of this position is: To serves as a subject matter expert and joint operations planner to conduct campaign planning. Conducts joint planning processes to support DoD space operations. May serve as the de facto deputy in the absence of the military branch chief. Supports the Boards, Bureaus, Centers, Cells and Working Groups (B2C2WG) Battle Rhythm events. Provides guidance, training, and technical insight on space operations issues to the US military department staffs and other government and non-government agencies.

Qualifications

Conditions of Employment (cont.) This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Incumbent is subject to uncommon tour of duty hours to include proficiency shifts, rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays on an infrequent basis. Extended shift work (12 hours), and off-duty hours on-call, particularly during Command exercises, special events, and emergencies. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management and Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH 02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS 11 or equivalent in the Federal Service (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or private sector). Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of Joint operational doctrine, the Joint Planning Process, joint combatant command structure, and global command and control constructs. Knowledge of and ability to implement military adaptive planning process, and development of operational orders. For current Federal Employees within General Schedule Pay Plans- Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of Joint operational doctrine, the Joint planning Process, joint combatant command structure, and global command and control constructs. Knowledge of and ability to implement military adaptive planning process, and development of operational orders. Skill to participate in operational planning teams, participate in operational assessment groups, and modify existing orders to affect ongoing operations. Ability to independently execute projects and/or studies within established time constraints. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, articulate complex issues; and maintain good working relations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
